The Steven Kasher Gallery is honored to present Miles Aldridge: Pictures for Photographs.
The exhibition will include over 25 large scale color photographs as well as a selection of the
artists sketchbooks and drawings. It will launch the artists monograph Miles Aldridge:
Pictures for Photographs (Editions 7L/Steidl, 2009). This is Aldridges first solo U.S.
exhibition.
Miles Aldridges images depict a stupendously glossy and magnetically vibrant world with ultra
slick, hyper-lit models, signature acid tones, and mysterious narratives. Cinematic expression
marks Aldridges work; his dream-driven, erotic style has been compared to Bergman, Bunuel,
David Lynch, and Hitchcock. Aldridge is first of all an artist of the subconscious, secondly a
fashion photographer.

On November 8th, right after the election, we hosted a panel discussion: The Legacy of the
1960s, Good and Bad, with SDS Founder Tom Hayden, former Weatherman leader
Bernadine Dohrn, former Black Panther Jamal Joseph and photographer David Fenton;
moderated by Josh Marshall, Editor and Publisher of Talking Points Memo.
A Webcast of the panel discussion can be viewed by
clicking here.
The discussion was tremendously moving and informative. It concentrated on what we all can
do through participatory democracy to help the Obama administration adopt a truly progressive
agenda.
There was an article the next day in the New York Times about the panel. To

On Friday, November 7th, GRITtv previewed the panel with a live interview with Bernadine
Dohrn, David Fenton, and Jamal Joseph, followed by a one-on-one interview with
Dohrn.

On Friday, November 7th, the Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC (93.9 FM) previewed the
